Bair Needs Foster Parents Like You
“Whoever welcomes this child, welcomes me.” Luke 9:48
Today, there are more than 120,000 children and teens in foster care who are waiting for the love and security that a permanent home provides. May is National Foster Care Month and The Bair Foundation is looking for potential foster parents to give hope, love, and a stable environment to kids now more than ever.
Everyone needs to feel a sense of belonging, and you never outgrow the need for a family. Kids are God’s greatest gift. When you become a parent, you take on a role unlike any other. Foster care could be the next route to take on your journey to raising a family.
Many people say that when they adopt a pet, they not only saved an animal, but their furry friend saved them as well. Foster homes are no different. Each foster home not only benefits the child or teen but the foster parents as well.
LOVE IS AN OPEN DOOR
A home is defined as “one’s shelter”. It’s a place where we all can feel love and safety. A place where we can be ourselves and have constant support.
Fostering allows parents the opportunity to provide a safe haven and support system for the children who need it most. You will be able to provide a consistent living environment that will give a child the chance to work through difficulties, overcome obstacles, and become a successful adult.
There are currently 400,000+ children in foster care within the United States. As you can imagine when reading that statistic, there is an overwhelming need for foster parents willing to open their hearts and homes to children and teens (as well as sibling groups).
The Bair Foundation serves foster children and teens from ages birth to twenty-one. Whether you are fostering children or teens, it is through you, the loving foster parent, that children of every age will receive the permanency, healing, and security that they need in order to thrive.
Many become foster parents to help children, but so many do not think of the positive impact it will have on them. Foster care will change your life. The forever life-changing impact will bring joyful positivity. A foster parent can provide a safe haven from the harsh world, and the possibility of life for a child that seemed out of reach.
Give a Child a Chance
Children are a gift from the Lord. Is there a better fit than the beautiful month of May? Flowers are blooming, things are starting to grow. National Foster Care Month is a great time to begin recognizing that we can each play a part in enhancing the lives of children and youth in foster care.
The Bair Foundation takes pride in our ability to match each child with an appropriate, loving family. This critical step lays the foundation for successful outcomes. We are able to facilitate the adoption of foster youth, and many children and teens have successfully been adopted by their Bair foster families.
Children need stability and predictability to thrive, so we utilize many tools to accomplish that as part of our foster care approach so that we can give each child consistent caregiving. Currently, 91% of children placed or residing in a Bair Foundation foster home remained in the same home within the past year.
